Managing and sharing collaborative files through WWW
نویسندگان
چکیده
The increasing complexity and geographical separation of design data, tools and teams have demanded for a collaborative and distributed management environment. In this paper, we present a practical system, the CFMS, which is designed to manage collaborative files on WWW. Wherever remote developers are, they can navigate the evolutions and relationships between target files, check in and check out them conveniently on web browsers using CFMS. The capabilities of CFMS include the two-level navigation mechanism for version selection, the relationship model that conceptually manages the relationships between physical files as well as the prefix-based naming scheme that can uniquely identify requested objects. © 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. Graffiti: A Framework for Testing Collaborative Distributed File System Metadata
Managing storage in the face of relentless growth in the number and variety of files on storage systems creates demand for rich file system metadata as is made evident by the recent emergence of rich metadata support in many applications as well as file systems. Yet, little support exists for sharing metadata across file systems even though it is not uncommon for users to manage multiple file s...
متن کاملVersion Control Management for Federated Service-oriented File Sharing
The major objective of the Service Oriented Computing Environment (SORCER) is to form dynamic federations of network services that provide for concurrent engineering systems: shared data, applications, tools, and utilities on a service grid along with exertionoriented programming. To meet the requirements of these services in terms of design data sharing and managing in the form of data files, ...

Recently, literature around the theme of collaborative management research has grown considerably. According to the definition of collaborative management research, two components are connected to each other in this context; managers of organizations and academic researchers. In literature, many authors claim that the relationship between these two components could lead to significant advantage...
متن کاملUsing the WWW as infrastructure for collaborative production of documents
Collaborative writing is a common practice in workplaces and academic environments. The possibility to exchange documents through the Internet has paved the way for collaboration among co-authors. To date, the tools available for collaborative writing have largely been limited to email and commenting support. However, communication, coordination and sharing information are factors of vital impo...
متن کاملTechnical Report CS-2007-37 Recommender Schemes for Peer-to-Peer Systems
In Peer-to-Peer (P2P) file sharing systems, peers spend a significant amount of time looking for relevant and interesting files. However, the files available for download represent on one hand a rich collection for different needs and preferences and on the other hand a struggle for the peers to find files that they like. In this paper, we propose new recommender schemes based on collaborative ...
